Yuma in March ends our long-term stays for the winter as we will begin our 6-week journey to Michigan. The mountains are beautiful and the abundance of sunshine and no bugs is wonderful. This park has been perfect for us, with no planes, trains, or automobiles and enough activities including an onsite hair salon, golf course, and bar to keep anyone busy. Next year we will spend our winter in Florida along the west coast.
John has been participating in the golf outings at the park (I have been in a cast or brace so still can’t). I did join him in the cart (although mostly walked on a beautiful day) at Las Barrancas. On the back nine, we joined the 3 guys behind us.
Decided we were going to take a road trip south and around the hills and back. My phone said it would take about an hour. We made it about 3 miles before we couldn’t go any further. Apparently, the road is restricted to government vehicles only.
Woohoo, the cast is off, and no surgery. Need a brace for two more weeks, and exercises to get my strength back, and then ready to move forward. The best part of removing the cast is taking a shower without a plastic bag over it. Thank you everyone for the prayers, no doubt they helped.
They held a farewell party in the park and over 1300 attended. John won at bingo a few times, and me only once. Almost enough money to retire, oh wait, we are retired.
Think it was time to replace the chairs. Nobody should sell their stock in Costco with the amount of money we spend on each trip.
