RV Winter 2023 – Tucson Early Dec

Finally, finally finally. I feel I can golf again. My game seems to be back at least for one round. We played Haven in Green Valley. I had a 35 going into hole 8, blew up the last two holes, and ended with a 48. However, my first 7 holes gave me some confidence back—the same thing on the back nine. At least I am consistent. However, the last two holes proved to me not to be too cocky.

We visited the Kartchner Caves in Benson followed by a quick drink at the local Eagles. You weren’t allowed to take any pictures in the caves as they are trying to keep everything as pristine as possible. Very fascinating and the geology formations are amazing. Now every time I look at a hill in Arizona I wonder if it is an undiscovered cave. Bought a cute hummingbird ornament for the tree.

Another week of bingo and a couple of rounds of Texas Hold’em. No winners yet but enjoying it.

Drove up to Vans to get my pitching wedge fixed (it was loose) and I am sure that is the reason I blew up holes 8 and 9. After headed downtown Tucson on 4th and hung out at a couple of local pubs while the Winter Street Art fair was going on. It was fully tended and fun was had by all.

Our bikes were destroyed in Florida by the sea salt last winter and I finally bought a new bike. Today we did a 10-mile bike ride on the Santa Cruz trail. Tucson has the best bike paths in the city we have seen.

Finished the week with the last nice day and a trip to Charron Winery. Amazingly the 2018 Merlot was pretty good and the views were beautiful.
