RV Winter 2023 – MS, AR, LA

Arrived in Tunica, MS for 5 days of golf and gambling. We used to come here every other year on Thanksgiving weekend for years with our friends Nancy and Edson. This place has really declined in the last 20 years. At least six of the good casinos and one very good golf course are gone.

We played Rivers Bend twice. Canceled North Creek because of wind and cold. Apparently being gone two winters has thinned my blood. Also played Tunica National. Last week and next week both in the ’80s this week a cold spell and a high is in the ’50s and low 60s. I guess they wanted us to remember what it was like on Thanksgiving.

I guess they have snakes here. My ball went down that hole and was just ready to go look for it when John spotted the snake. Nope, the ball is gone.

Golfed at Tunica National and had lunch after. Probably the best patty melt I have ever had. The day we canceled golf went to the Tunica RiverPark and Museum on the Mississippi. A huge building with an informative display about the Mississippi River. What we saw was nice, however, they have such potential to make it so much more.

I noticed on Friday I wasn’t getting any emails on my phone. It just stopped syncing and said it wasn’t connected to the internet (I was). Spent the next few days trying to fix it and reading every post on what to do. I tried all of them to no avail. I ended up doing a factory reset, losing everything. I was able to restore anything through google but all my apps were gone along with the pictures from the last few days.

We arrived in Benton, Arkansas on Friday and our friends John and Cheryl were about 40 minutes away just north of Little Rock. We met at a restaurant that had an appealing menu online. Our food was just mediocre but great to see our friends. It took us over an hour to get home because of an accident coupled with construction.

I spent Saturday doing a factory reset and downloading apps on my phone, cleaning the RV, grocery shopping, fixing a light, checking out the area, getting a haircut, and cleaning the Jeep. I think it is time for wine.

Windy travel to Shreveport. Here for two nights before we meet our friends in the Dallas area.

Got to add Arkansas and Louisiana to my map.
