RV Florida 2020

After a full day of loading the RV and yes it took a whole day and 17,000 steps (at least I got my steps in) and a few hours this morning we are on our next one month adventure. I promised myself I would be calmer this time and nothing would go wrong.

Well loading the RV in snow and ice and praying you don’t fall is a challenge. I was very careful to always leave one hand free however RV steps are very very slippery. Thank goodness I did keep one hand free as I slipped at least 3 times and would have gone done badly if I hadn’t been hanging on to the rail.

So this morning I turn the fridge on and start loading it. I also turn on the aqua hot to get some heat. Well, I didn’t turn on the generator and I killed the battery. So we started the RV and I turned off the house batteries and back and on and we have electricity again.

John puts the slide in and then raises the jacks. The jacks go up but the light won’t go out. After a reasonable time, he just turns then off. Hopefully, that was just because there was some slush on the jacks.

Ok, time to hook up the jeep so we can leave. After hooking it up, I always verify both turn signals and brake lights are working. Well, the right turn signal on the jeep isn’t working after an hour of fiddling with it, it still isn’t. I sure hope they can see the turn signal on the RV.

Yesterday while bringing the RV to the condo and today on the freeway anytime we are over 50 miles an hour we have a very loud wind noise. No draft just noise. No idea what it is and the only thing that has changed since our last trip is we have all brand new tires. BTW a little plug for joining FMCA, they saved us over $500 on our tires, well worth the annual membership.

So off to our first stop, which is our granddaughters, oh yes and her parents too. We will be parking the RV in their driveway for the night. I hope the association doesn’t get too upset.
