Day 2-3 Sarnia to Milton, ON (9/15/19-9/16/19)

9/15/19 & 9/16/19

We left Sarnia and headed toward Milton, ON. The roads are a lot better than Michigan roads. Michigan always blames it on winter weather, but pretty sure, Ontario has the same weather. Arrived at Milton Heights Campground without incident and got set up. We then drove to the local grocery store as we came into the country without any food. Grocery prices were reasonable however, beer was very expensive and no wine to be found. Apparently you must buy your alcohol at a government liquor store, called LCBO. After grocery shopping came back to the campground and worked on our latches (they still aren’t working properly). One of the neighbors came over and found out they live in the campground full time, year-round. Yikes, that is making sure nothing freezes and you don’t get snowed in.

Day 2 we took a day trip (with the Jeep) to Niagra Falls and Niagra-on-the-lakes. It was about a 70 minute drive. On the way home, we stopped at Costco, hoping to buy wine. Nope, they don’t sell it only LCBO. So of to LCBO we went. $200 later we had a few bottles of wine and actually purchased a couple of local wines.

After arriving back at the campground we met a neighbor that was the owner of the Oxley Vineyards and brought us a bottle to store for a year and then sample. Our neighbor next door, is a professional golfer, Adam Knight, who will be in a tournament tomorrow at the TPC golf course. We wish him luck. He also told us to play Cabot Links at Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. According to him, it is better than Pebble Beach and $305 a round. Trying to decide should we spend the money.
